Digital Art At Sidcot

The Art Department is advanced in its use of ICT, and has some excellent equipment, partly through school support, and partly through sponsorship.

As well as directing senior students towards A level success in Graphic Design - with many going on to study at degree level, we are trying to integrate ICT throughout the department, using the internet and cd roms for research, image libraries for art history presentations, specific computer based programs of study on animation and digital video with younger students, and a weekly computer activity for a handful of the 'wizzkids'

Current explorations include blogs, social networking, online portfolios mobile technology and podcasting.

Ross Wallis has been spreading this expertise through seminars, presentations, workshops, joint ICT projects, recently presenting for both Apple and Adobe. Ross is an Adobe Education Leader and Apple Distinguished Educator, and has presented seminars on digital art at the Bett show.
