Sponsorship.

The digital revolution that is in process is very exciting, but it is also very expensive to keep up to date, with computer technology advancing at such a phenomenal rate. Sidcot School Art department has been very fortunate to receive funding from various commercial sources; most notably from Hewlett Packard, through the Arts and Science initiative, but also by Apple, Adobe, Realillusion and others.

Rayburn Tours has made use of some of the photographs that we have taken on various of the Art and Music trips that we have done with them. They also part funded a professional quality digital video camera that we used to document the concert tour to Denmark. More recently we have won Rayburn Tours photos competition with photos from the concert tour to Lake Garda in Northern Italy, and we are featured on their website! (click the link above)

Corel has been very helpful in allowing us to use their software at some of the training days that we have been involved in (follow the link to Excellence in Cities) In return it is a possibility that we may be used by the Corel company as a case study for publicity purposes.

Apple and Adobe both provide invaluable support through the 'Adobe Education Leaders' and 'Apple Distinguished Educator' programmes.

We are currently contemplating the possibility of becoming an Apple Regional Training Centre.

Without this sponsorship and help it would be very difficult for us to keep up with the rapid changes in this technology, and to spread the knowledge that we are gaining through the use of computers in the department. We are very grateful for all the help and encouragement that we have received as well at the hardware and software that has been donated or lent to the school.
